This article explains the Configuration > Benefits > Settings page. It used to be a tab on the Benefits screen; the benefit settings now live in Configuration. Only users with the BENEFIT_MANAGER permission see the page. Your choices here apply to the whole company.
Before you start
Decide which payment, benefit and deduction types your company uses.
Settle your advance policy (up to how many salaries, how many installments, how many times a year).
Step by step: type management
In the left menu, go to Configuration, pick Benefits in the list on the left and the Settings card at the top. The Settings button in the header of the Benefits screen opens the same page. The page opens on Type Management.
In the Payments, Benefit and Deductions sections, turn on the types you use with the switch next to each type and turn off the others. Each section header shows the number of types that are on (e.g. 5/11 on). Turn all on and Turn all off in the section header change every type of that section at once; the Search by type name box at the top finds a type (while you search, these two buttons apply only to the types in the list).
Click Save in the bar at the bottom. While there are unsaved changes the bar says "You have unsaved changes"; Discard changes goes back to the last saved state. If you move to another card or page without saving, you get a warning.
Types that are off do not appear as options in Add Benefit, Add Payment, Add Deduction or the Excel entry. Records already entered with these types are not affected and keep flowing into payroll.
Step by step: advance rules
On the Configuration > Benefits > Settings page, switch to Advance Rules.
Fill in the fields:
Maximum Advance Limit (Salary Multiplier): how many times the salary can be given as an advance within a year (0–12).
Minimum Employment Period: how many months a new employee must complete before receiving an advance (0–60).
Maximum Number of Installments: the maximum number of installments for one advance (1–36).
Maximum Number of Advances per Year (0–12).
Minimum Days Between Advances (0–365).
Click Save.
Default values are used for fields left empty. If no setting has ever been saved, the advance limit is 1.5 times the salary and the installment limit is 12. The rules are checked for advance deductions entered with Add Deduction and uploaded from Excel.
If you try to switch to another section, another setting or page without saving, you are warned that unsaved changes will be lost.
Foreign-currency amounts
Besides Turkish Lira you can choose Dollar, Euro and Pound for benefits, payments and deductions. Foreign-currency amounts are converted to Turkish Lira with the exchange rate of the payroll period when payroll is calculated. In-kind payments, meal cards, private insurance, fund deductions and traffic fines are entered in Turkish Lira only.
Note: Company-specific rates (automatic or manual) are managed on the Configuration > Payroll calculation > Settings > Currency Settings tab; benefits and payroll use the same rates. Changes on that tab need Benefit Manager Permission.
Result
Type selections apply immediately; advance rules apply after Save. These settings send no email or notification.
