Example uses with the assistant - leave, approvals, goals, badges, payslips and help

Shows step by step how to create a leave request, go through pending approvals, add a goal and send it for approval, give a badge, open a payslip and search the guides with an assistant connected to Teamso.

This article shows with examples what you can ask an assistant connected to Teamso. You write in plain language; the assistant calls the tools in order. Names in the examples are fictitious.

Before you start

Step by step

1. Creating a leave request

Type: "I'd like annual leave from next Monday to Wednesday."

  1. The assistant reads your leave types and remaining balance, and calculates how many working days the range takes and your return-to-work date.

  2. It shows you a summary (for example 3 working days, the balance drops from 14 to 11 days) and asks whether to send the request.

  3. If you agree, it sends an SMS code to your phone. Type the code to the assistant; the code is valid for 3 minutes.

  4. The assistant creates the request and sends it for approval. The request reaches your approver as if you had created it on screen (Requesting leave).

Tip: in clients such as Claude Desktop and Claude Code you can also start by choosing request_leave from the ready-made prompts.

2. Going through pending approvals (manager)

Type: "Show the leave requests waiting for me and approve Ayşe's."

  1. The assistant lists the leave requests at your approval step.

  2. It finds Ayşe Yılmaz's request and approves it. Your assistant may ask for your confirmation before this write step.

  3. To reject, you need to give a reason; a rejection without a reason is not possible.

The review_pending_approvals prompt brings all pending requests as a table and asks for your decision on each one; it never decides for you (Approving a leave request).

3. Adding a goal and sending it for approval

Type: "Add a sales goal weighted 40 percent to the 2026 Q4 period and send it for approval."

  1. The assistant lists the performance periods and finds "2026 Q4".

  2. It may ask you for the goal's measure (points, quantity, days, currency, percentage or other) and the target value.

  3. It creates the draft goal, then sends your draft goals to your manager for approval.

Outside the goal entry window, or if the weights do not add up, Teamso rejects the action and the assistant tells you why (Entering goals as an employee).

4. Opening a payslip

Type: "Open my September payslip."

  1. The assistant lists your e-payslips by term.

  2. It fetches the September payslip as a PDF. Whether the PDF is displayed depends on your client.

The assistant only sees your own payslips (Viewing my e-payslip).

5. Searching the guides

Type: "How do I enter an overtime request?"

  1. The assistant searches the Teamso how-to guides.

  2. It opens the best matching article and summarizes the steps for you.

These tools do not touch your Teamso account and use no credits.

6. Giving a badge

Type: "Give Ayşe the Team Player badge and thank her for her help with the project delivery."

  1. The assistant searches the employees for "Ayşe"; if several people share the name, it asks which one.

  2. It lists the badges you can give and finds Team Player.

  3. It shows you the badge, the person and the message; once you confirm, it gives the badge.

Teamso applies the rules of the screen: if you may not give the badge, the person already has it as many times as allowed, or the days before giving again have not passed, no badge is given and the assistant tells you why. A badge that needs approval waits for a badge admin. You can also ask "Which badges did I get?" (Giving, approving and revoking badges).

Result

Every action taken with the assistant is recorded in Teamso as if it were done on screen, goes through the same approval flow and produces the same notifications. Write actions are recorded in the audit log with MCP as the source.

Common problems

Symptom: The assistant says the SMS code is invalid or has expired.
Cause: The code was not used within 3 minutes or was mistyped.
Solution: Ask the assistant to send a new code (Troubleshooting).

Symptom: The assistant tries to approve the wrong person's request.
Cause: There are people with similar names among the pending requests.
Solution: Give the person's full name and the leave dates, or ask for the list first and pick the request from it.
