This article explains the Configuration page at the bottom of the left menu. The modules' Manage Permissions, Approval Process and Settings pages and the Company Settings links are no longer listed one by one in the menu; they are on this page, in module tabs. The page is shown to people with permission for at least one of these.
Before you begin
You have permission-management permission in a module (e.g. LEAVE_MANAGE for Leave), a module settings permission or permission to see company settings (COMPANY_PAYMENT_READ) (Manage Permissions).
If you have none of these, Configuration does not appear in the menu.
Step by step
Click Configuration at the bottom of the left menu. On the collapsed rail this entry is labelled Settings.
Choose a tab on the left. The General tab holds company-level work: Company settings, Billing, Responsibility groups, Branch managers and the responsibilities of the Settings module. The other tabs are one per module you have permission in, sorted by name.
A tab has three sections; only the ones you have permission for are shown:
Responsibilities: the page where you decide who manages what in the module (Manage Permissions).
Approval process: whose approval requests go to, and in which order (Approval Process). The Compensation management tab has two processes: Approval process: Compensation and Approval process: Salary change.
Settings: the module's rules (PDKS, Overtime, Timesheet, Shift and Payroll calculation settings).
Click the link you want to open. The matching page opens; Configuration is shown as active in the left menu.
On a phone the tabs are a select box at the top of the page. To open a tab directly you can add a query such as ?tab=LEAVE§ion=approvals to the address. You can also reach these links by typing "responsibilities leave" or "approval process expense" in Search (Ctrl K / ⌘ K).
Result
The page is a hub: its links open the existing screens, and their old addresses keep working. Your changes are saved the way those screens save them. If the Leave module is turned off for your company or your plan has no leave package, Public holidays also appears in the General tab; if you use the leave module, it is in the menu under Time and attendance > Leave. The calendar is shared by the whole company (time tracking, timesheets and payroll use it too), so it opens without the leave package as well.
