Using the left menu - Mine, module groups, Search and Create

This article explains the Teamso left menu: its parts, the collapsed rail, the drawer on phones, finding a page by typing with Search, opening a record quickly with Create, pinning the pages you use most, and where to see your pending work. Everyone uses the menu; it only shows pages you have permission for and that are turned on for your company.

Before you begin

Parts of the menu

From top to bottom the menu has these parts:

Part

Contents

Header

Your company's logo and name. Clicking the logo opens Home.

Search and Create

Search pages, actions and guides; open records such as leave requests, expenses or requests quickly.

Mine

Your own work: Home, My approvals (only for people with a place in an approval chain), My profile, My leave, My requests, My expenses, Payslips and docs, My shift preferences (when the shift module is on), My badges and Scan QR.

Pinned

The pages and groups you pinned (up to 6 in total). If you have not pinned any, the part is not shown.

Modules

Five groups: People, Time and attendance, Pay and expenses, Growth and hiring, Comms and docs; below them Reports as a single entry.

Footer

Discover modules (administrators of self-serve companies), Configuration, MCP connection, Help center and Collapse.

Open left menu
  • Clicking a group heading opens or closes the group; which groups are open is remembered in this browser. The group of the page you are on always opens.

  • When a group holds several modules, the module names appear as small subheadings (e.g. Leave, Shifts, Timesheets in Time and attendance).

  • When a group has only one page for you, that page is shown directly instead of the group (e.g. only Benefits).

  • The pages in Mine only show your own records: My leave and My requests open the same screen as the Leave and Requests management pages but list only your own leave and requests; My expenses opens the My expenses card of the expenses page. To see your team's or the company's records, use the management page in the module group.

  • Payslips and docs brings your e-payslips and the e-documents sent to you together in two tabs; even if you are a payroll manager, only your own payslips appear here (the company's are in Pay and expenses > E-payslip management). If you have only one of them, the menu shows My payslips or My e-documents and opens that screen directly.

  • The Reports entry opens the first of your report pages; switch between My reports, Leave report and Payroll reports with the tabs at the top of the page.

  • The Manage Permissions, Approval Process and Settings pages of the modules are not in the menu but on the Configuration page (Configuration page).

Top bar

The bar at the top of the page is the same on every screen:

Area

Contents

Left

Where you are: the group on top (e.g. Time and attendance, Mine), the page name below. On a phone the menu button (☰) is here.

Digital credits

Main administrator only: the remaining credits (e.g. 2.268 credits). When the balance drops below 50 it turns yellow. Clicking it opens Billing.

Help

Opens the guide for the page you are on (How do I use this page?); on a page without a guide it goes to the Help center.

Bell

Notifications; the number is your unread notifications (Following your notifications).

Account button

Your photo or initials, your name and your company. Clicking it opens the account menu.

Top bar and account menu

The account menu holds, in order: your name, e-mail, position and company; My profile, Notification settings, Change password; under Preferences, Language (Türkçe, English, العربية or Русский; each language in its own name) and Appearance (Light or Dark; it applies at once and Teamso keeps opening in it); Send feedback, Our solution partners (if you have permission) and Log out at the bottom. The language choice that used to sit under the gear icon at the top right is now here; it applies at once, the page reloads and the choice is saved to your account. Lists open as a table on wide screens; on phones and wherever the table does not fit the page (a tablet, a narrow window) the same list turns into cards on its own and back into the table when the window gets wider. There is no separate view choice. Use the arrow keys to move in the menu; Esc closes it.

On a phone the digital credits and How do I use this page? are inside the account menu; on narrow screens and in the mobile app, lists open as cards. On lists with bulk actions each card has a checkbox on its left; selecting cards brings up the selected count and the bulk actions at the bottom of the screen.

Step by step

Collapsing and expanding the menu

  1. On a computer, click Collapse at the bottom of the menu. The menu becomes a 72-pixel rail; each icon has its short name below it (e.g. Configuration shows as Settings on the rail).

  2. On the rail, click (or hover over) a group icon. The group's pages are listed in a panel next to the menu; click the page you want. The panel closes with Esc, when you click outside it or when you choose a page; the menu stays collapsed.

  3. To open the menu again, click Expand at the bottom of the rail.

Your choice is saved in this browser and applies on every page. On your first visit the menu starts open if the screen is 1280 pixels or wider, and collapsed if it is narrower.

Finding a page with Search

  1. Click Search at the top of the menu, or press Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac) on any page.

  2. Type what you are looking for. You do not need Turkish characters: "izın", "IZIN" and "izin" give the same result. Results are listed under Pages, Actions and Help articles. Everyday words such as "salary", "expense" or "check-in" find the related pages too.

    Search window
  3. Choose a result with the arrow keys and press Enter, or click it. Esc closes the window.

When you open it without typing, it lists the pages you visited recently, the Create actions and the Mine pages. Configuration links (e.g. "responsibilities leave") and the Reports tabs can also be found here one by one.

Opening a record with Create

  1. Click Create at the top of the menu.

  2. Choose the record you want to open from the list (e.g. Leave request, Expense, Request, Overtime, Report). Managers also see Add employee, Add leave for employee, Announcement and Send document.

    Create menu

The list only holds actions you have permission for and that are turned on for your company; it is the same list as Quick add on the home page.

Editing quick add

  1. Click Create and choose Edit quick add at the bottom of the list.

  2. In the window that opens, clear the actions you do not want to show; change the order with the up and down arrows on the right of each row. The home page shows the first four selected actions (the On home page label).

    Edit quick add window
  3. Click Save. The Create menu, Quick add on the home page and the actions in Search follow this order. Reset to default brings back the suggested order.

At least one action must stay selected. Only actions you have permission for are listed; if you are given a new permission later, that action is added to the end of the list. Your choice is saved in this browser.

Pinning pages

  1. Hover over a page in the module groups and click the pin icon on the right of the row. The page is added to Pinned.

  2. To unpin it, click the same icon again.

  3. To pin a whole group, hover over a module heading (e.g. People) and click the pin icon to the left of the arrow; all pages of the module move to Pinned with their headings. To pin only the pages under a subheading (e.g. Employee records), hover over the subheading and click the pin icon on its right. To unpin a group, click the pin on its heading in Pinned. Pages added to the module later, or opened to you by a permission, join the pinned group automatically.

You can pin up to 6 pages or groups in total (each group takes one place). Pages in Mine and the links in the footer (except Configuration) cannot be pinned. Pinned pages are saved in this browser. With the keyboard: move to a page, a module heading or a sub-heading with the arrow keys and press →; focus moves to the pin, Enter pins or unpins, ← goes back to the row.

The menu on a phone

  1. Tap the ☰ icon at the top left of the screen. The menu opens as a drawer from the left.

  2. When you tap a page the drawer closes. To close it, tap the dimmed area on the right, swipe left or tap X.

    Menu drawer on a phone

On a phone Scan QR (attendance check-in and check-out) is in Mine. In the mobile app the menu opens the same way with ☰.

Result

The menu has no count badges or dots; it is only for going to pages. You see your pending work in the Inbox (Waiting for you) on the home page and on My approvals; when you give an approval the item leaves the list at once (My approvals). Your own tasks are listed on the related page too: policies waiting for your read confirmation on Company policies, e-documents waiting for your approval and an e-payslip waiting for your answer on Payslips and docs, your PDKS excuses on Scan QR (on Attendance management if your menu has no Scan QR, otherwise on Home).

You see new announcements on the Announcements page and in the notification panel on the top bar; the menu has no announcement badge.

Common problems

Symptom: The Manage Permissions or Approval Process link I used to see in the menu is gone.
Cause: These links moved from the module groups to the Configuration page.
Solution: Open Configuration at the bottom of the menu and choose the module's tab; or type "responsibilities" in Search. The old addresses keep working.

Symptom: A page does not appear in the menu.
Cause: You have no permission for that page, or the module is turned off for your company.
Solution: Ask your manager for permission. A newly given permission appears in the menu after you refresh the page.

Symptom: The menu opens collapsed every time.
Cause: You collapsed it with Collapse before; the choice is saved in this browser.
Solution: Click Expand at the bottom of the rail.
