Teamso shows the events that concern you as in-app notifications. This article explains how to follow your notifications from the bell icon in the top bar and from the Notifications window, and how to choose in the Notification settings window where each notification reaches you. It applies to all users; no separate permission is needed.

Most leave, expense and request notifications are also sent by e-mail at the same time; you choose which emails you receive on the Emails tab of the Notification settings window (see below). If you are signed in to the Teamso mobile app, notifications also reach your phone's notification centre as push notifications; tapping one opens the related screen (Mobile app). You choose in the Notification settings window which notifications go to the bell and which to your phone (see below).
Before you start
Sign in to Teamso. The bell icon is on the right of the top bar on every screen.
Step by step
Seeing your latest notifications from the bell
The red number on the bell is your unread notification count ("99+" if there are more than 99). While the page is open, the number is refreshed every 30 seconds; a notification you mark as read or remove leaves the count at once.
Click the bell icon in the top bar. The Notifications panel opens under the bell (on a phone it fills the screen and closes with the x at the top right). Your unread count is shown next to the heading, such as "5 new".
All shows every notification, Unread only the ones you have not read. Notifications are grouped by the day they arrived under Today, Yesterday, This week and Older (days follow Istanbul time). An unread notification has a bold title and a blue dot on its right. Under each row the module and time are shown (such as "Leave · 12 min ago" or "Attendance · Yesterday 18:02").
Click a notification. It is marked as read and the screen in the table above opens. A notification opens the list, not a single record; find the record there.
Notifications that wait for you have a button under the row: Review for leave, expense, request and badge approvals, Send excuse when an excuse is asked for, Go to discrepancy for a time and attendance discrepancy, Read and acknowledge for a policy waiting for your acknowledgement and Go to documents for e-documents waiting for your approval. On notifications about your own leave, expense or request (created, sent to the next approval, approved or paid, rejected) the button is View and opens your own list: My leave, My expenses or My requests. The button opens the notification's screen and marks it as read.
Hover over a notification and click the three-dot icon on its right (on a phone the icon is shown on every row). In the menu, choose Mark as read (without opening the screen), Mark as unread on a read notification, Remove notification or Settings for this type. The last one opens the Notification settings window with that notification type's row highlighted.
To mark them all as read, click Mark all as read. The button is disabled when there is no unread notification.
The panel shows your 20 newest notifications; older ones load as you scroll to the bottom of the list. Without notifications it says "No notifications", without unread ones "No unread notifications". Close the panel with the Esc key, by clicking the bell again or by clicking outside it. With the keyboard, move between rows with Tab, open one with Enter and use the arrow keys in the three-dot menu.
Using the Notifications window
The Notifications window opens all your notifications on top of the screen you are on; you do not leave it. Notifications are grouped by the day they arrived (Today, Yesterday, then the date).
Click All notifications at the bottom of the bell panel. The Notifications window opens; your unread count is shown under the heading.
All shows every notification, Unread only the ones you have not read. Unread notifications have a blue background and a blue dot on their left. The icon colour tells the type: approvals are green, rejections red, time and attendance warnings yellow.
Click a notification. It is marked as read, the window closes and the related list opens. The time is shown on the right of each notification ("12 min ago" within the last hour); hover over it to see the full date.
Hover over a notification. To only mark it as read (without going to the related screen), click the tick icon (Mark as read); to delete it, click the bin icon (Delete). On a phone these icons are shown on every row.
To mark them all as read, click Mark all as read. The message "All notifications marked as read" appears.
To delete all notifications, click the three-dot icon (More actions) on the right and select Delete all. The warning "All your notifications will be deleted. This cannot be undone." appears above the list; click Delete all or Cancel.
The window first shows your 20 newest notifications; older ones load as you scroll down, and "That's everything" is shown when all are loaded. Close the window with the x at the top right, the Esc key or a click outside it.
Choosing where your notifications reach you
Every notification can come through two channels: a System notification is shown under the bell at the top right of Teamso, a Push notification arrives in the Teamso app on your phone. A notification does not come through a channel you turn off, and a notification with both channels off does not come at all. Emails are not affected by this choice; you choose them on the Emails tab of the same window (see below).
If you have not made this choice yet, the How would you like to get notifications? window opens once when you sign in to Teamso:
Click the cards you want: System notification, Push notification or both; a check mark appears on the right of a selected card. If you select neither, the warning "If you choose neither, you will get no notifications from Teamso." appears.
Click Save (while no card is selected, the button reads Continue without notifications). Your choice applies to every notification. To choose per notification type, click Set per notification; the Notification settings window opens.
Until you answer, notifications come through both channels. You can change your choice later in the Notification settings window:
Click your name at the top right and select Notification settings in the account menu. You can also open it with the gear icon in the header of the bell panel or with the Settings button in the header of the Notifications window. The Back to notifications button on the right of the header returns to the Notifications window.
The window opens on the App notifications tab. The System notification and Push notification cards at the top show for how many notifications each channel is on ("On for every notification", "On for 18 of 20 notifications" and so on). To turn a channel on or off for every notification, click the switch on the right of its card.
Notifications are collected in cards by topic (Leave, Expenses, Requests, Internal communication, Overtime, Time and attendance, Recruiting, Performance, Other). Announcement, company policy, policy acknowledgement and contracted institution notifications are in the Internal communication card; badge notifications are in the Performance card. To turn every notification of a topic on or off at once, click System or Push on the right of its card; if only some are on, the button shows a count such as "2/3".
To choose one by one, click the topic name; its notifications are listed. The System and Push buttons on each row are filled when on and crossed out when off; click them to switch. A row with both off shows "You will not receive this". To find a notification, type its name in Search notifications.
On the Emails tab, choose the emails Teamso sends you (details under the next heading).
Click Save at the bottom. The message "Your notification settings were saved" appears. To discard your changes without saving, click the Undo link in the bottom bar; to close the window, click Cancel. If you try to close the window or go back without saving, the bar at the bottom says "You have unsaved changes"; choose Save and leave or Leave without saving.
The list only contains notifications of the modules that are turned on for your company.
The setting applies to new notifications; the notifications already under the bell are not deleted.
In the Teamso mobile app, the top of this window shows your phone's notification permission. If it is off, use Open phone settings to allow Teamso in the phone's settings; while it is off, the notifications you set to push do not reach the phone.
In a support session this window can be viewed but not changed.
At your request, the Teamso support team can turn off the company administrator's getting started emails, usage summaries and Teamso product emails; only you can turn them back on, in this window.
Choosing your emails
The Emails tab of the Notification settings window lists the emails Teamso can send you, grouped by category. Only emails that can reach you are shown, and emails of modules that are turned off or not purchased in your company (for example Expenses, Inventory, E-payslip) are not listed: employees see workflow notifications and two employee reminders under Getting started emails (Get the mobile app, You have not signed in yet), the company administrator also sees all getting started, summary and product emails, and the person who manages payments sees payment emails. Workflow notifications that only go to an approver, a manager or the holder of a permission (for example approval requests, the weekly approval reminder, the weekly HR digest, probation and contract reminders, the overdue e-documents report, PDKS summaries, badge and performance admin summaries) are listed only for the people who can receive them; they appear once you are added to an approval chain or an employee reports to you. Emails sent to people without a Teamso account (candidate emails, survey and report notice addresses) are not listed here and do not carry a link to turn them off.
Category | Who receives it | What | How to turn it off |
Workflow notifications | Everyone | Leave, expense, request, overtime, asset, e-document, e-payslip approvals, shift, time attendance, survey, onboarding and offboarding, HR reminders, meeting, candidate mention, goal, performance, competency, badge, announcement, celebration and approval reminder emails | The category's All switch or the email's own switch; the link in the email |
Getting started emails | Company administrator; employees only the two reminders | Tips during setup and in the first weeks; for employees the mobile app invitation and a reminder if they have not opened their account (Employee reminder emails) | The same |
Usage summaries | Company administrator | Last month's summary and what is coming up this month | The same |
Teamso product emails | Company administrator | New features, module suggestions, event invitations | The same |
In the Emails tab you see each category's name, description and how many of its emails are on ("12 of 14 on" and so on).
To turn off every email in a category, turn off the All switch on the right. While a category is off none of its emails are sent; the switches of its emails look disabled, and your earlier choices come back when you turn the category on again.
To turn off a single email, click the category name. The list opens; turn off the switch of the email you do not want (for example Monthly usage summary).
Click the Emails you cannot turn off row at the bottom of the list. The emails that reach you but cannot be turned off are listed with the Cannot be turned off tag and the reason they are sent.
Click Save at the bottom.
Emails you turned off with the I don't want these emails link at the bottom of an email also show as off here; to turn one back on, switch it on and save (Unsubscribing from emails).
Emails you cannot turn off, and why
Kind | Examples | Why it cannot be turned off |
Security | Sign-in code, email verification, password reset and set your password link, your password changed, sign-in from a new device, support access opened | Needed to sign in and to keep your account secure; if it could be turned off you would not hear about someone changing your account. |
Account | Your account is ready, company data deleted, company account closed | Tells you about an important change to your account that cannot be undone. |
Payment | Payment receipt, trial and licence ending, payment failed, billing details missing, account suspended, bank transfer pending, seat limit, digital credit low | Sent about your payment and subscription; missing it can interrupt the service. |
Legal notice | Your e-payslip was sent, your e-payslip was sent again | Delivering the payslip to the employee is a legal obligation. The e-payslip approval reminder and the e-payslip approval emails sent to managers can be turned off. |
These emails carry a "cannot be turned off" sentence and an Email preferences link at the bottom; the link opens this window on the Emails tab after you sign in. The Email settings link under optional emails opens the same tab.
Result
Notifications you mark as read no longer count on the bell. Deleted notifications cannot be restored; deleting a notification does not affect the related leave, expense or request record.
Common problems
Symptom: The bell shows a number but I cannot see an unread notification in the panel.
Cause: The unread notifications may be further down the list.
Solution: Click Unread in the bell panel or in the Notifications window.
Symptom: Clicking an old PDKS notification opens a "page not found" screen.
Cause: The notification was created by an earlier version and points to a page address that is no longer used. New PDKS notifications open the right screen.
Solution: Open Time and attendance > Attendance management from the left menu and switch to the Discrepancies tab (Deciding on discrepancies and excuses).
Symptom: Clicking a notification shows "Not authorized to access this page."
Cause: You do not have the permission for the screen the notification opens (e.g. a shuttle announcement opens Comms and docs > Shuttle).
Solution: Read the full announcement on the Announcements card on the home page (Using the home page).
Symptom: I did not get a notification for a request waiting for approval.
Cause: It is not your turn in the approval chain yet, or you are not in the chain.
Solution: Check the inbox (Waiting for you) on the home page; review the chain with your manager (Approval Process).
Symptom: I do not get notifications on my phone.
Cause: Push notification is turned off for that notification in Notification settings, the mobile app is older than 1.0.3, Teamso's notification permission is off on the phone, you signed out of the app, or another account is signed in on the phone.
Solution: Tick Push notification in Notification settings and save, update the app, allow Teamso in the phone's notification settings and sign in with this account in the app (Mobile app).
Symptom: An email no longer arrives.
Cause: The email's own switch or its category's All switch is off (it may have been turned off with the I don't want these emails link in an email or with your mail app's unsubscribe button).
Fix: On the Emails tab of the Notification settings window, turn the category and the email on and click Save. Some emails also depend on a company setting (for example badge and celebration emails); if the company administrator turned that setting off, the email still does not come.
Symptom: A notification does not appear under the bell but reaches my phone (or does not come at all).
Cause: The System notification box of that notification is unticked in Notification settings (if both boxes are unticked, it does not come at all).
Solution: Open Notification settings, tick System notification on that row and click Save. Notifications created while it was off are not added to the bell afterwards.
