The Teamso mobile app is the web application packaged for phones. You sign in with the same account; menus, screens and permissions are the same as on the web. This article covers signing in, how the app differs from the web, scanning QR codes for PDKS, notifications and updating the app. It applies to all users.
You can find the app as "Teamso" on the App Store and Google Play.
Before you start
Install the latest version of the app. Location and camera permissions may not work in older versions; notifications on the phone need version 1.0.3 or later.
Know the email address your company gave you, or the phone number registered in the system, and your password.
To check in and out with PDKS, your account needs the PDKS Base User permission.
Step by step
Signing in
Open the app. The first time, introduction screens appear; skip them with Login.
Type your email address or phone number and tap Continue.
If you have more than one account, choose it on Choose your account.
Fill in Password and tap Login.
If your company has turned on an additional verification step at sign-in, enter the 6-digit code sent by SMS or email and tap Verify and Sign In.
The app has no fingerprint or face sign-in. To sign out, choose Log out in the account menu at the top right.
Differences from the web
These are not shown in the mobile app:
The Configuration > Billing menu and the Digital Credit box in the top bar. Make payments and credit purchases on the web.
The Organization Chart.
When your package's user limit is reached, adding an employee does not open the step to buy extra users; you are asked to contact support instead.
Your company's security settings also apply in the app: with IP restriction on, you can only sign in from allowed networks; with the screen lock on, the app also locks when idle (Security and access settings).
Scanning a QR code for PDKS
In the left menu, tap Mine > Scan QR.
The first time, the app asks for location and camera permission; allow both. The location card shows your distance to the workplace and whether you are inside the allowed area.
Tap Scan QR to check in (or Scan QR to check out when leaving). The rear camera opens.
Point the camera at the Teamso QR code at your workplace. It is read automatically once it is aligned with the frame.
If your company requires a photo, the front camera takes one automatically without a preview.
The result screen shows that the record succeeded, with the time, location and distance. Your timesheet entry is created automatically.
Use Start Break and End Break for breaks. If you are late or a scan is rejected, you can send an excuse to your manager with Send Excuse. Without internet the scan is queued and sent when the connection returns (offline scanning is not possible when a photo is required).
You cannot check in or out without a QR code. For PDKS rules in detail: PDKS overview.
Notifications
Teamso notifications are shown inside the app: the bell icon in the top bar shows the number of unread notifications. Tap the bell and the Notifications panel opens over the whole screen; Unread shows only the ones you have not read. Tapping a notification marks it as read and opens the related screen (e.g. Time and attendance > Leave); use Mark all as read to mark them all as read. Close the panel with the x at the top right. For notification types, deleting and the Notifications window, see Following your notifications.
Notifications on your phone
Teamso notifications also reach your phone's notification centre as push notifications: leave, expense and request approvals, announcements, PDKS alerts and the rest. You notice an item waiting for you without opening the app. You choose which notifications reach your phone with the Push notification box on the Notification settings screen (Choosing where your notifications reach you).
The first time you open the app, the phone asks for notification permission; tap Allow.
Sign in to your account in the app. Your phone is registered for that account; there is nothing else to set up.
Tapping a notification opens the app on the related screen (e.g. Time and attendance > Leave). A notification that arrives while the app is open also shows at the top of the screen.
Your phone receives the notifications of the account you are signed in with in the app at that moment; if you switch to another account, notifications come from that account. After you sign out of the app, no notifications reach your phone. To turn off notifications on your phone, tap your name at the top right, open Notification settings, untick Push notification on the rows you want (or on all of them with the column header) and tap Save; notifications that keep System notification ticked still appear under the bell icon. The top of the screen shows your phone's notification permission; if it is off, turn it on with Open phone settings.
Updating the app
When a new version of the app is released, the strip "A new version of the app is ready. Tap to update." appears at the top of the screen.
Tap the strip. The Teamso page on the App Store or Google Play opens; tap Update and open Teamso again when the update has finished.
If you do not want to update right away, close the strip with the cross on its right. The strip does not come back for the same version; it shows again when a newer version is released.
If the version you use is no longer supported (only in critical cases), the app opens on the Please update the app screen and cannot be used until you update. Tap Update now and update from the store.
Result
In the app you can use all the screens your permissions allow on the web, check in and out for PDKS with your phone, see notifications straight away in your phone's notification centre, and keep the app up to date.
Common problems
Symptom: "Location permission denied" or "Camera permission denied" appears.
Cause: The app has not been given location or camera permission in the phone settings, or an old app version is in use.
Solution: Turn on location and camera permission for Teamso in the phone's Settings, and update the app.
Symptom: I get "You are too far from the expected location".
Cause: You are outside the workplace's allowed area.
Solution: Move closer to the workplace and try again, or tell your manager with Send Excuse.
Symptom: "This device is not registered to your account" appears.
Cause: Your company uses device binding and you are scanning from a new device (or the phone's browser). The app and the phone's browser count as different devices.
Solution: An approval request is sent to your manager; try again after it is approved.
Symptom: I do not get notifications on my phone.
Cause: Push notification is off in Notification settings, the app is older than 1.0.3, notification permission was not given, you signed out of the app, or another account is signed in on the phone.
Solution: Tick Push notification in Notification settings, update the app, allow Teamso under the phone's Settings > Notifications, and sign in with the account whose notifications you want.
Symptom: The "A new version of the app is ready" strip still shows after updating.
Cause: The update in the store has not finished, or the app was not reopened after the update.
Solution: Check in the store that the update has finished, then close the app completely and open it again.
Symptom: Scan QR does not appear in the menu.
Cause: Your account has no PDKS permission, or your company does not use the PDKS package.
Solution: Ask your administrator for the permission (Manage Permissions).
Symptom: On Android I cannot pick a PDF when uploading a document.
Cause: In the Android app the file picker only opens images in the gallery.
Solution: Upload PDFs and other document types from the web.
Symptom: I cannot sign in or I forgot my password.
Solution: As on the web, use Forgot Password on the password step; for what the messages mean: I can't log in - what should I do?
Symptom: The app opens in English (or Turkish).
Solution: Tap your initials at the top right and choose the language in Preferences > Language in the account menu. The choice is saved to your account, so your other devices open in this language too.
