Turning company modules on and off

Explains how to turn the modules your company uses on and off in the Modules section of Company Settings, turning a module on with a single click from Discover, core and not purchased modules, and the "This module is disabled for your company" screen…

This article explains how to choose which modules your company uses. A module you turn off disappears from the menu and the home page cards for everyone, and its screens cannot be opened; its data is not deleted, and when you turn the module on again it continues where it left off. Modules are turned on and off by the company admin or by users with the Company Permission Settings permission.

Before you start

  • Be the company admin or have the Company Permission Settings permission (Manage Permissions). Users with the View Company Settings permission see the section but cannot change it.

  • Let the employees who use a module know before you turn it off; once it is off they cannot open its screens.

Step by step

1. Open the Modules section

  1. In the menu, go to Configuration > Company settings.

  2. In the settings menu on the left, click Modules in the Modules & Display group.

The card at the top shows your company's Module profile (Turkey, International or Custom) and how many modules are on (for example "8/20 modules on").

2. Turn modules on from Discover

If you signed up for Teamso yourself, the Discover item at the bottom of the left menu also opens this section.

The Discover group lists the modules you are not using yet. The ones suggested from your choices in the setup wizard come first with the Recommended label.

To turn a module on, click Turn on on its card. The module is turned on right away (a "... is now on." message appears) and shows up in the menu.

3. Turn modules in use on and off

  1. In the Modules in use group, click a module's switch to turn it on or off. The card you changed shows the Unsaved label.

  2. In the Module features group you can turn parts of a module that can be switched off on their own (for example Badges in Performance) on and off the same way. The card names the module it belongs to ("Part of Performance"). When you turn off Badges, goals and competency assessments keep working. Turning off the Performance module turns badges off too, and the Badges card shows the note "Does not work while Performance is off".

  3. In the Country-specific features group you can turn fields tied to Turkish legislation (for example private pension, garnishment and alimony deductions, Turkish statutory fields) on and off the same way. They can stay off for companies outside Turkey.

  4. In the Unsaved changes bar that appears at the bottom, click Save. To drop your changes, click Discard.

  5. In the Confirm module changes window, check the modules under Turning off and Turning on and click Save.

The message "Module settings saved." appears. The menu and the home page cards are updated to the new state.

4. Know the modules you cannot turn off or have not purchased

  • Core modules: Required for the system to work (for example employees, organization, settings); they show the Core label and cannot be turned off.

  • Modules not purchased: Not in your package; they show as Locked. Clicking Buy opens the Payment Infos screen. If you signed up for Teamso yourself, the plan payment screen opens with the module's package ticked; the module turns on once you pay (Choosing a plan, paying and the payment result).

The small note at the bottom of a card shows how the module was last set: Set at sign-up, Country preset or Changed by an admin.

Result

A module you turn off disappears from the menu and the home page cards for everyone in the company. If someone opens a page of a module that is off through a link, the This module is disabled for your company screen opens:

  • The company admin sees "You can turn this module on yourself in Settings > Modules." and the Manage modules button, which opens the Modules section.

  • Other users see "To use this module, contact your company administrator." and the Back to home button.
